We're recruiting for Anthony's A-Team!
It is that time again, time to recruit for the 3-2-1 Go!
Walk and Anthony's A-Team! We would like to thank
our family, friends and service providers for supporting us in the past for
this great event. Anthony's A-Team came in 4th place
last year, and though he just missed a trophy, he really enjoyed the event. It
is always such a blessing to see and feel so much support for Anthony and his
activities. He really is part of all of our lives and brings such joy to those
who know him. Just a simple visit with Anthony can brighten even the gloomiest
of days. His newest winning line is "I love you the most." Of course, he says
it to EVERYONE he loves!
He's had a lot of success since the last Walk. He is in 3rd grade at
Brecht Elementary where he continues to enjoy learning, and play dates, with
his many friends. His favorite subjects are science, recess and lunch. He is
taking guitar lessons and enjoys playing for guests, as long as he can choose
the song - he doesn't like requests! He learned how to ride a 2 wheeler this
past summer, and still enjoys reading, swimming, riding his scooter, listening
to Kids Bop and dancing. He received an iPad through a grant and is VERY
knowledgeable about using it. He uses it at school and at home, and everyone
sees the benefits of its use.
We had more than 300 people at our event last year and hope to have another great
turnout for this year's 3-2-1 Go! Walk, which will be held at the
Clipper Stadium from 9:30am - 12pm on Saturday, May 12th. WINK 103 will be joining us, as well as
Uncle Yodie the magician, the Funimals, and Cylo. We would love to have you form
a team or join Anthony's A-Team at the Walk. It is truly a day that you and
your family will enjoy and keep in your hearts. Your support is so special and
touches our hearts and lives in so many ways.
The purpose of the Walk is to raise awareness of Down syndrome
and to promote inclusion and acceptance of people
with Ds. We hope you will join us in supporting Anthony for the 3-2-1
Go! Walk, our largest annual event. Money raised
from this event goes directly to supporting our community by providing educational
and social activities to our families, bringing Down syndrome specialists to
Lancaster, supplying public libraries, hospitals and schools with current books
about Ds, and networking on a local, regional and national level. Find out more
about what CDS does for families in our community at www.CelebrateDS.org. Your support of Celebrate Down Syndrome's 3-2-1 Go! Walk is greatly appreciated!
Remember to register to join us
for the 3-2-1 Go! Walk. We look forward
to seeing you on May 12th! Thank you to all of our friends and family for your
love and support.
